Up and coming Youtuber and Apex streamer Sgt. Stressful, who streams Apex Legends, took to Twitter to share his displeasure that his Apex account was banned.
“The Sarge” stated in his tweet, "I got BANNED on Apex Legends. I will be releasing a full statement soon. Just want to come out first and say it."
Then upon receiving an email from EA returned to Twitter to say,
EA Bans me from @PlayApex for 3 days for calling someone a "NOOB"
You can't make this up…
Sarge also released a video on his YouTube channel that started by him using footage from a blatant rage hacker claiming to be that of his own as he covered up the name of the player cheating with his logo, but don't worry in true Sargent Stressful fashion he was only pulling our leg.
Sarge then went on to explain the situation that led to EA banning him for what they claimed in the email to Sarge as harassment.
The harassment cited was something that Sgt Stressful had typed in the game chat following
what he claimed was a hard carry on his behalf, typing in game chat," Welcome for the carry noobs."
So apparently referring to a teammate as a noob is grounds for a 3 day ban from Apex play as that is the length of suspension that Sgt Stressful is currently serving.
As of publishing it’s unclear if The Sarge has appealed this decision by EA, if EA has responded to any potential reaching out of Sgt Stressful, or if Sarge plans on waiting out the three-day ban.
After Sarge joked about the reasoning behind his ban, he shared his feelings on being banned for harassment which in his opinion was not grounds for harassment. He went on to state, " You must be soft, covered in cotton, to be affected by those words."
After sharing his feeling about the severity of his language choice, he took an opportunity to throw a couple of jabs at EA, coining them in his trademark catch phrase, " EA, you guys are absolute scrubs! Take a teaspoon of cement and harden the fudge up!"
In Sarge's video on YouTube, he went on to say he felt this was more embarrassing for EA than it is for him to have to deal with a 3-day ban, reminding his viewers that Apex has recently been plagued with not only cheaters on a massive scale but a very poorly thought revamped rank system that is causing players to quit playing the game in droves.
Sarge also pointed out the countless number of professional Apex players that not only use foul language
but language that is very aggressive towards other players in the game, as well as allowing many of its top creators to encourage other harmful behaviours.
Chances are Sarge's ban will be lifted before we ever hear a response from EA or Respawn
but the comment section of his video and his tweeter feed seem to be nothing but support
for the Sarge and nothing but disgust for EA and Respawn, as many have alleged that they are too preoccupied with virtue signalling and catering to larger content creators needs than to properly administer oversight of their game.
Many smaller streamers chiming in on the matter cited Hide Outs/Connor Ford's quick response to any streamer with a larger sized audience should they need assistance with eradicating a cheater from their game or help with their own undue or false bans as one of the reasons they believe EA/Respawn give special attention to some streamers and ignore those who have smaller audiences.
Should EA or Respawn reach out to Sarge or Sarge himself have any more develops in this story we'll be sure to cover it right here on BBB Gaming News, your best source for the other side of the news!
