ANOTHER BAN WAVE FROM TEAM RICOCHET

Team Ricochet have upped their in game 'hacker catcher' status by implementing further verification methods to derail previously banned users. According to our source, another ban wave took place last night with no update from Activision or Team Ricochet. The ban wave supposedly related to the use of UAV tools.

Shadow bans and permanent bans where prevalent in the cheater community yesterday evening.

Users of previously banned accounts were met with an additional security feature. This included verifying a phone number. Not a problem for genuine players. But in the cheating community, single use numbers are used for multiple account creation and verification. This is a large problem for cheaters who use 'burner' phone numbers to access the game.

Screenshots sent from a source showed the problem they where facing. Most accounts made by those who use 3rd party software use a single use number. Be that a disposable sim, a free online number or an app that generates numbers. This could be the start of a seemly expensive way to play for cheaters.

Previously, initial verification would include a phone number associated with the Warzone/Battlenet account added. Ricochet have now requested multiple verifications of the same number to try an combat the cheaters who use single use numbers.

As support for the anti-cheat dwindles. Will this further step actually prevent the cheating problem?
